Individual Therapy

The initial therapy session is $235. During the initial 45-minute appointment we will explore in depth the issues that brought your child to counseling and discuss goals for change. Our initial assessment process may also include a parent or caregiver interview, child or teen interview (if applicable), the review of submitted rating scales and checklists, consultation with outside providers, review of any provided outside evaluations and reports, as well as a structured observation and direct assessment to be completed during the first appointment. Furthermore, we offer parents a complimentary introductory call with your child’s therapist before or after the initial therapy appointment in order to discuss additional information that will be helpful in supporting them.

Subsequent individual sessions for children and teens are $210. These are regular 45 minute sessions. During ongoing appointments, we will develop a treatment plan that fully addresses your child’s goals, in addition to practicing new strategies and reviewing their progress.

Family Therapy

We can also meet for an extended session length of 60 minutes to discuss family concerns or dive deeper into issues.  For 60-minute family therapy sessions, the initial intake session is $275. The rate for ongoing sessions is $250.

Insurance

We are considered an out-of-network provider. This means that you pay our full rate at the time of service and afterwards, you can request reimbursement from your insurance plan. Many insurance companies will reimburse for some or all of the cost when working with an out-of-network provider. This is usually in the form of a check sent to you by mail.

Our services may be able to be applied to your deductible.

Ask your insurance company whether you have out-of-network benefits or we can help you verify your benefits. You’ll also want to determine whether you have a deductible to be met. Your deductible is a dollar amount you have to reach before insurance kicks in to start reimbursing services. Furthermore, you should ask the insurance what your allowed amount is. This is the amount they will use to determine what percentage of the cost they will reimburse you.

If you have out-of-network coverage, ask what percentage they cover for the following codes with a licensed mental health provider for codes 90834 and 90837.

If you see the terms PPO, POS or out-of-network on your insurance card, you will likely be able to receive a percentage of the cost of services back in your pocket. If you see HMO, Medicare or Medicaid on your card, then you probably do not have these benefits.

For your convenience, we can provide you with a detailed statement also known as a “superbill” in order for you to file for reimbursement with your insurance carrier.

Per the No Surprises Act, if you do not intend to submit to insurance for possible OON reimbursement, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate. You decide the length and frequency of sessions and we do not bill, so no surprises, still a GFE can outline the projected cost of therapy at our rate for up to one year.

You may be eligible for an out-of-network exception.

Many families are surprised to learn that insurance companies sometimes make exceptions when young children—especially preschool-aged—need specialized care that isn’t readily available. In certain situations, insurance companies allow an out-of-network exception, meaning services may be covered at in-network rates when appropriate care is not reasonably available within the insurance network.

We recommend contacting your insurance company to find out how to request an out-of-network exception for your child’s mental health care. Sometimes this is callled a network gap exception or in-network waiver. W’re here to help you advocate for your child by guiding you through this process and providing necessary clinical documentation.

If you’re exploring therapy for your child and have questions about out-of-network coverage, we’re happy to help you understand your options.
