Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment approach used to help children, teens, and adults recover from trauma and other distressing life events. It has been effective in treating individuals with anxiety, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. EMDR focuses on changing thoughts and behaviors resulting from distressing memories so that the brain can heal and increase positive thinking about future events.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is an evidence-based approach to treating anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It has also been demonstrated to be effective in treating depression. CBT helps children and teens analyze and reduce negative thoughts that lead to unhelpful thinking and behavior in order to promote more positive thoughts and experiences.
Exposure Therapy
Exposure therapy is an evidence-based behavioral approach used to help children and teens with anxiety disorders. It involves focusing on the source of anxiety without the threat of danger or harm. Through repeated exposure and practice, this helps children and teens overcome their anxiety and embrace new experiences.
Pediatric Hypnosis
Pediatric hypnosis is an effective method for helping children and teens relax and slow down their thinking when they feel overwhelmed. It has been utilized to strengthen self-control over physical and behavioral challenges. Children and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, sleep issues, eating disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder have been shown to benefit from this approach. Using their imagination and the power of suggestion, they discover their capabilities and apply them toward overcoming obstacles.
