Continuing Education
We have a wealth of trainings and continuing education workshops you can attend to strengthen your clinical skills. You can choose ones based on your interests and what is effective in providing high quality care for children and families. If there is a training you desire to attend that will further enhance your abilities, you can just let us know and we are happy to support you. Compensation is provided toward the costs of ongoing education as this is an important part of the work we do.
Flexible Scheduling
You can take as many or as few clients as you want, control your schedule and decide on the types of clients you want to see. Benefits, including health insurance, is offered once you reach a minimum of 30 weekly sessions with clients.
Grow Your Professional Skills
We offer weekly and biweekly supervision sessions to fit your needs, including individual and peer group supervision. We believe that we can really learn from each other and are happy to share our knowledge about our work.
Build Strong Relationships with Families
We keep caseloads low so you really have the opportunity to get to know the families you work with and develop goals that meet their needs. We pride ourselves on being available for our clients both during and outside of sessions. You will have the time you need to be able to follow up on strategies discussed in session, answer questions, and check in on client’s progress. It is very important that you and the families you work with feel appreciated and recognize the value in your work together.
In-Person Office and Virtual Therapy Sessions
You have the option to provide therapy services in person at our Westchester office or virtually from home – whatever works best for you and the families we serve. We also offer a hybrid program comprising of some in-person and virtual appointments.

We are always looking for full time and part time therapists to join our growing team at Courageous Kids Counseling.
If you’re a licensed master social worker (LMSW), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), creative arts therapist (LCAT), or other counselor with or without a psychotherapy permit – we’d love to hear from you.
Employment Requirements :
Valid license: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-LP, LCAT, LCAT-LP
2-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience
50+ hours of advanced training, or certification in one of the following Modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Emotional Freedom Tapping Technique (EFT), Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Hypnosis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
You’re looking for a long-term career which will allow you to grow within our private practice
You’re committed to building up to 32 hours a week over 4 days a week.
You’re excited to work a hybrid schedule; in-person and teletherapy.
You can maintain a confidential, professional and esthetically pleasing virtual office environment with high-speed internet free of disruptions or background noise.
You’re known as being communicative, extremely professional, flexible, organized, highly-relatable, personable, kind, emotionally attuned and receptive.
You know your stuff. You can facilitate impactful psychotherapy sessions for folks struggling with anxiety, panic, depression and trauma
You’re computer savvy and familiar with basic systems such as: Google Calendar / G-mail / Google Drive / G-Suite, EHR system, Zoom etc.
You’re detail oriented and able to seamlessly manage a caseload of up to 24 clients
You’re a self-started who is autonomous, but also has a passion for learning and growing as a clinician
You respond well to feedback and you’re always looking for opportunities to grow personally and professionally

New to Working in Private Practice?
If you are newly starting out with private practice, there’s a lot we offer to help you get acclimated:
Complete Your Licensing
We can offer clinical hours with supervision to help you complete licensing requirements for the LCSW, LMHC, or mental health equivalent.
Build Your Caseload Gradually
You can slowly build your caseload while becoming more comfortable, confident, and competent in providing psychotherapy to our families. There is no need to rush; we strongly value quality over quantity when it comes to the services we provide. As you become familiar with our process, we will help you manage your schedule and grow your caseload so you can help more children and families.
Peer Supervision Groups
Our therapists and supervisor are there to help you get started and can offer supervision for any training requirements, as well as provide meaningful feedback regarding client care.
