Michelle Coffey is a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. She earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of South Florida and completed her clinical internship at Centerstone of Florida. She has over seven years of experience providing clinical therapy.
Michelle is a person-centered therapist who partners with her clients to achieve their personal goals. She approaches her clients with an empathetic lens and collaborates with them to develop realistic solutions for attaining lasting positive change. Her experience and passion areas include working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures and LGBTQ+ individuals. She also enjoys working with a wide-range of issues including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, ADHD, relationship issues, and complex medical conditions.
Michelle has worked in diverse settings including a large international telehealth therapy platform, outpatient behavioral health agencies, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Her clinical practice is informed by evidence-based treatment approaches and best-known practices within the field of mental health therapy. She utilizes a trauma-informed perspective in all her treatments and addresses client issues through a harm reduction and person-centered care lens. She has extensive experience in treating addiction, mental health diagnosis, and anxiety and trauma-related disorders in adults utilizing various therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Solution Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
Michelle moved to New York in 2019 from southwest Florida and has lived across the United States. Michelle values the importance of personal growth and development through on-going education and is continuously engaged in clinical supervision and trainings to better support her client’s needs.
