I was lucky enough to discover the Social Work profession early in my college career, receiving a Bachelors of Social Work from Simmons College in 2018. I went on to get my Masters of Social Work at New York University graduating in 2019 and received my LMSW October, 2019. One of the aspects that drew me towards the field was the endless opportunities to grow and learn from other clinicians as well as from my clients.
Since graduating my work experience has mainly been in psychiatric hospital settings. I currently work full time at an outpatient mental health clinic affiliated with a local hospital. Here I work in collaboration with other clinicians and doctors to help provide care to some of the most vulnerable populations in the lower Hudson-Valley.
I have experience working with children and teens not only in an inpatient clinical setting but in a school and daycare setting as well. I feel that my time in non-clinical settings has helped me gain more insight into the daily anxieties that kids today go through. Especially in a world where most of our daily communication is done through comments online, texting, and emails, giving our kids space to verbally express how they are feeling is more important than ever. Through using techniques such as Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Perspective, and CBT, I hope to work with your child gain new skills and insight into themselves
